Standards we commit to uphold

1	Written child protection policy	We maintain (or adopt within 30 days) a written policy proportional to risk.
2	Reporting mechanism	We route concerns to statutory authorities first when required and inform Smaart Foundation concurrently or immediately thereafter.
3	Volunteer/tutor readiness	Responsible adults receive baseline safeguarding orientation before engaging minors.
4	Verification	We verify identities of adults working with learners where practicable and lawful.
5	Record keeping	We maintain confidential incident notes and share them when statute demands.
6	Consent	We obtain caregiver consent before activities that materially involve children.
7	No uncontrolled adult access	We do not introduce unverified adults into child-facing workflows.
8	Emergency escalation	We call Childline (1098) or police for imminent harm and notify leadership.
